Ingredients
- ½ pound fresh asparagus, trimmed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small garlic clove, minced (or ¼ teaspoon garlic powder)
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- Optional: squeeze of lemon juice after roasting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Lay asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to coat.
- Roast for 10–12 minutes, until tender but still slightly crisp.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan and roast 1–2 minutes more.
- Optional: add a light squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving.
Tips
- If your asparagus spears are very thick, roast them 2–3 minutes longer.
- For extra browning, turn on the broiler for the last 1 minute.
- Can swap Parmesan for a dairy-free cheese sprinkle if desired.
