Ingredients
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can sliced peaches in heavy syrup (or half of a 29-ounce can)
- ½ cup self-rising flour
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ cup (4 tablespoons) butter, melted
- ½ cup liquid (peach juice + milk)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Directions
- Combine the flour and sugar in a mixing bowl.
- Stir in the melted butter, liquid (peach juice + milk), and vanilla until smooth.
- Add the peaches anxd gently fold them into the batter.
- Pour into a greased 8×8-inch baking dish (or similar).
- Spread the peaches evenly throughout the pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the edges are set.
Substitutions
- Use peaches in light syrup or juice.
- Substitute margarine for butter.
- Replace sugar with artificial sweetener or reduce the amount.
- Swap peaches for other fruit or pie filling.
