A simple, budget-friendly one-pot beef and pasta dish that cooks fast and delivers cozy, comforting flavor for two.


Ingredients

  • ½ lb ground beef
  • ¼ cup onion, diced
  • 2 cups water
  • ¾ cup ditalini pasta
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • Salt, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1–2 teaspoons steak seasoning blend
  • Pepper, to taste
  • ½ to ¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Brown the ground beef and onions together until the meat is no longer pink.
  2. Drain the meat and set aside.
  3. Add the water, the bouillon cube and a pinch of salt to the same pot and bring to a boil.
  4. Add the pasta and cook until al dente.
  5. Watch the pasta as it cooks and add a splash of water as needed; you shouldn’t have to drain it.
  6. Add the cooked meat and onions back to the pot.
  7. Add Worcestershire sauce, steak seasoning, and pepper.
  8. Taste and adjust seasonings; let any remaining liquid cook out.
  9. Remove from heat, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, and cover with a lid until melted.
